Sex Offender Arrested For Providing Alcohol to Minors: Police

Police arrested a sex offender in Monroe County Saturday after he was allegedly providing alcohol to minors.

Alexander John Snow, 22, was charged with failure to obtain sex offender identification and providing alcohol to persons under 21-years-old, police said.

Police pulled over a car after they failed to make a full stop at a stop sign. Inside the car there was a 19-year-old man driving. Snow was in the passenger seat. Two girls, ages 15 and 16, were in the back seat.

The responding officer said the car smelled of marijuana.

Police searched the car and found 10 beer cans and a bottle of rum. No open beer cans or marijuana were found in the car, but the rum was opened but mostly full.

The girls told police that Snow bought the alcohol. One of them told police that Snow was asking them if they wanted to get a hotel room in Marathon.

Records show that Snow is a sex offender who registered in Monroe County in November, but didn’t get a driver’s license stating so. Snow was convicted of child molestation when he was 19.

The 19-year-old and the two teen girls were released at the scene. Snow was taken to jail.
