Police are searching for a suspect who they say shot an 18-year-old Friday in Tropical Park.
The shooting happened before 6 p.m. at 7900 Southwest 40th Avenue, not far from Santa's Enchanted Forest, police said.
The victim was sitting in the passenger seat of a car with his girlfriend in the driver's seat, Miami-Dade police said. Witnesses told police the shooter attempted to open the car door and then opened fire through the window, striking the passenger in the chest.
The victim is in critical but stable condition at Kendall Regional Trauma Center.
