The Miami-Dade Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run.
It happened just before 9:15 p.m. Monday near Northwest 108th Street and Northwest 12th Avenue.
According to investigators, a man in his 20s was skateboarding on 12th Avenue when he was struck by a late model Hyundai Sonata, blue in color.
After the collision, police said the vehicle fled the scene. The driver's side mirror was missing and there was extensive front-end damage.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
