Smoke Seen at Miami International Airport After Minor Bulldozer Fire

A minor fire at Miami International Airport could be seen from the nearby highway, but officials said there were no injuries.

Smoke could be seen rising from the area of Miami International Airport Friday afternoon after a bulldozer caught fire on one of the airport's main roadways, officials said.

The fire happened at about 2 p.m. in a construction area on 4200 NW 21st Street, according to Miami-Dade Fire Spokeswoman Doris Valdes.

The fire was minor and did not cause any injuries, officials said. Spokesman Marc Henderson said the fire did not affect airport operations.

Authorities did not yet know the cause of the fire.
