Social Media Response to Shooting at Stoneman Douglas High

President Trump, First Lady, Ellen Degeneres among those discussing shooting

Many politicians and organizations have taken to social media to express their concern and condolences for Wednesday's shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, Sen. Marco Rubio and Florida Gov. Rick Scott were among the politicians who weighed in. 

First Lady Melania Trump also tweeted about the shooting.

Celebrities also took to twitter to react to the shooting, including Ellen DeGeneres.

Cassandra Scerbo, one of the stars of the "Sharknado" movies, attended the school.

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who also attended the school, also expressed his sorrow.

The Florida Panthers issued a statement in regard to the fatal shooting. 

"We are deeply saddened by the news of today's shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland," said Florida Panthers President & CEO Matthew Caldwell. "The hearts of the entire Florida Panthers organization are broken by the news of today's events. We are committed to providing aid and support to our community as it grieves in response to this senseless tragedy."
