In a matter of seconds, Miami native and Northwestern High graduated Brianna Rollins added a title to her resume that can never be taken away: Olympic gold medal winner.
Rollins was part of an American sweep in the 100m hurdles Wednesday night in Rio, winning in 12.48 seconds to bring home her first medal in Olympic competition.
Celebrating her 25th birthday on Thursday, Rollins got messages of congratulations from across Miami-Dade County, including politicians, sports teams and even a high school teammate now starting in the NFL:

Rollins tweeted out a message on Thursday, still enjoying the moment of being a gold medal winner:

She also appeared on the "Today Show" Thursday, where she mentioned Miami.
"Shout-out to Miami, 305, what up? I'm so thankful and grateful for all you guys that are supporting and watching me. I see you, I love you guys and just remember that whatever you want to achieve, you can do it. Just believe in yourself," she said.
The sweep by Rollins, Nia Ali and Kristi Castlin was the first time that one country had won all the medals in that competition at one time. Rollins had set the NCAA record for the event during her time in college, running for the Clemson Tigers.
There was plenty of pride at Rollins' alma mater, Northwestern Senior High School, and among her family members in Liberty City.
"I'm so grateful, I'm so happy," grandmother Mae Moore said.
"I'm proud, very proud of her," mother Temberance Rollins said.
