South Florida Honors Lives Lost on 9/11

Ceremonies will be held throughout South Florida Thursday to mark the 13th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Broward:

The Fort Lauderdale Fire and Safety Museum will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. at 1022 West Las Olas Boulevard that is open to the public.

The City of Pembroke Pines will be holding a September 11th Patriots Day Remembrance Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. at the Pembroke Pines City Center Memorial Pavilion at 10300 Pines Boulevard. The public is invited to attend.

The Broward Sheriff's Office will be paying tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11 with a ceremony at the Signature Grand in Davie at 6900 West State Road 84 at 10:30 a.m.

The City of Sunrise will hold a September 11 Remembrance Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. at the Sunrise Public Safety Building at 10440 West Oakland Park Boulevard.

Hallandale Beach will hold a 9/11 Remembrance ceremony at Police Headquarters at 121 Southwest 3rd Street at 9 a.m.

Pompano Beach will hold a 9/11 Memorial Concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Pompano Amphitheater with the American Legion Symphonic Band.


Miami-Dade:


The Miami-Dade Police and Fire Rescue Departments will host a remembrance ceremony at 7900 S.W. 40th Street beginning at 9 a.m.

The Miami-Dade Aviation Department will hold a remembrance ceremony at 8:35 a.m. at Miami International Airport's Flag of Honor installation.

The City of Hialeah will hold a 911 Remembrance Ceremony at Fire Station One at 83 East 5th Street beginning at 10:15 a.m.

The City of North Miami will host a September 11 Observance at Police Headquarters at 700 Northeast 124th Street at 9 a.m.
