A former mail carrier in South Florida is facing charges after authorities say he was caught throwing a bag full of mail into a dumpster.
John Henry Caddle, Jr., 58, of Hollywood, is facing four counts of delaying and detaining mail, according to the Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.
Caddle made his first appearance in federal court in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday. No attorney information was immediately available.
Authorities say a witness saw Caddle toss a garbage bag into a dumpster near Caddle's home back in August. The witness found the bag and discovered undelivered mail inside, authorities said.
Postal agents went to Caddle's home the next day and found found five garbage bags full of mail outside the home, authorities said.
