A Southwest Florida man was arrested after a man allegedly stole credit cards and a driver’s license and spent hundreds of dollars on items – all while dressed as the popular comic book character Spider-Man.

NBC affiliate WBBH-TV report that Lee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Mario Chavez on Monday after he was caught on camera inside a Winn-Dixie this past July in the city of Lehigh Acres.

Investigators say that Chavez took a total of five credit cards as well as an insurance card and driver’s license from the female victim during the incident.

Deputies say Chavez, whose photo was released by Lee County Crime Stoppers in the red and blue pajamas, spent money from the cards on gas, fast food and attempted to buy $250 worth of gift cards.

Chavez bonded out of jail after being charged with both illegal use of a credit card and theft.
