A flight bound for Fort Lauderdale was forced to make an emergency landing overnight shortly after taking off from New York City.
Officials from Spirit Airlines say that Flight 779, which took off from LaGuardia Airport, made the landing at Newark, NJ International Airport following what is being called an “odor event”.
No injuries were reported and passengers were boarded onto another flight for South Florida.
A statement from the airline said mechanics are conduction a full inspection of the aircraft to determine what caused the issue.
