Fresh off his NFL reinstatement after a one-year suspension for hitting and killing a Miami man with his car, Donte Stallworth has a new NFL team.
The 29-year-old wide receiver has signed a one year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, a day after he attended a workout with the team and just days after he was released by the Cleveland Browns.
Stallworth was suspended for the 2009 season after he struck and killed 59-year-old construction worker Mario Reyes with his Bentley after a night of clubbing in Miami Beach in the early hours of March 14, 2009.
The NFLer had a blood alcohol level of .126 when the accident occurred, well over the legal limit of .08, and tested positive for marijuana in his system.
Stallworth served 24 days of a 30-day sentence under his DUI manslaughter plea deal, getting out of jail last July.
Under the terms of the deal, Stallworth will be on probation for 10 years, including a two-year house arrest he began serving when he was released in July. The NFLer will also have to perform 1,000 hours of community service and will never be able to drive again under the deal.
Since the house arrest condition was modified to allow Stallworth to work out with a trainer, it's assumed it'll also be modified to allow him to play with the Ravens.
It's unknown how much Stallworth will earn next season. He had signed a seven-year, $35 million deal in 2008 with Cleveland.
