Ringo Still a Starr

Former Beatle rocks the Hard Rock in Hollywood at age 70

Before there was Justin Bieber or the Jonas Brothers, teenage girls used to scream for the Beatles. And now those girls are all grown up.

But that doesn't mean they can't get all excited for Ringo Starr.

The Beatles drummer just celebrated his 70th birthday, and while most his age are retiring and moving to South Florida, Ringo was here to rock out.

Performing at Hard Rock Live Thursday with a little help from his friends (the All-Starr Band, which includes Rick Derringer and Edgar Winter) Ringo spanned his catalog of songs, as well as a few Beatles classics.

The crowd had a nostalgic feel, too. Old-school Beatles fans wearing Ringo t-shirts reminisced about the bands' early years.

One couple from North Miami Beach even bragged about their Beatlemania--they got married on Paul McCartney's birthday and took their honeymoon in Liverpool.

Before the show Ringo appeared at the Hard Rock Cafe to present a check in conjunction with the Seminole Tribe for almost $200,000 to the Haiti Relief Fund.
