A student at one Miami-Dade high school is in custody after reportedly bringing a knife onto campus Friday morning.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools officials say the student brought the knife to Miami Edison High School off Northwest 61st Street and 5th Court. A witness reported the knife to administrators, who took it from the student.

Cell phone footage showed the student holding the knife in the school's cafeteria.

Police are interviewing witnesses and said the student will face charges including possession of a weapon on school grounds and unlawful display of a weapon.

Miami-Dade Schools has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to weapons on school grounds.
