Students Evacuated After Fire Inside Lauderhill School Bathroom

Students were evacuated from an elementary school in Lauderhill after a fire broke inside on of the bathrooms Wednesday morning.

Chopper 6 was over the scene at Endeavor Elementary School, located at 2701 NW 56th Avenue in Lauderhill, after reports a fire inside one of the buildings.

Fire Rescue officials say a portion of the school was closed off after the fire was started in a bathroom inside one of the classrooms. Officials say someone from the school put out the blaze, but heavy smoke was still inside when they arrived.

One person was treated at the scene, but was not transported to the hospital. Officials would not say if that person was an adult or a student.

Students have been relocated to a separate section of the school was investigators remain on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
