Sunrise Police Looking for Woman Who Cashed Stolen Check

The woman allegedly cashed a stolen check for $985.

Police are looking for a woman who cashed a stolen check for nearly $1000 at a Priority One Credit Union in Sunrise.

The woman went to a drive thru teller at 3000 N. University Drive and said she was a Priority One Credit Union member, according to Sunrise Police.

She then gave the teller a stolen Navy Federal Credit Union check for $985 from one victim and asked to deposit the check and withdraw the money, police said. The ID she gave the teller was from another victim, police say.

Detectives said this woman had not only one check for $985, but the victim's entire check book, and she could be trying to cash the rest of them.

Police are now asking for the public's help once again.

"The public has been great," Ofc. Michelle Eddy said. "They've come by, we've identified the people and done what we needed to do."

The woman was driving a dark colored Nissan Armada. Anyone with information is urged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
