Caught on Camera: Burglar Uses Screwdriver to Break Into South Florida Homes

Anyone with tips is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Police have released surveillance video in their search for a suspect after a break-in at a Kendall apartment.

Detectives said the man was able use a screwdriver to crack open the door to a second-floor apartment at the Nob Hill complex on the 9900 block of SW 88th Street at about 10 a.m. on March 20th.

The burglar took $1,000 in cash and jewelry, police said.

Neighbors are now saying they feel unsafe in what they though was a secure neighborhood.

"It's pretty surprising because this is normally a pretty calm neighborhood," said one neighbor.

Tenants said the Nob Hill Apartment staff keeps an around-the-clock watch over the complex.

"There are security guards who are walking around, well, driving around all the time," resident German Salcedo said.

Police said the man is believed to be in his 20s or 30s and was wearing a blue or gray T-shirt with blue jeans.
