Surveillance Video Shows Deadly Shooting Outside Opa-locka Business

New surveillance video released Monday shows the moments where two men opened fire on a vehicle outside of an Opa-locka business, killing the owner while his daughter and grandson were also inside.

In the video, a man can be seen walking up to the passenger’s side of the vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. on October 18th outside the business located at 2155 Opa-locka Boulevard. Seconds later, a second man runs toward the driver’s side and both men pull out guns and begin shooting at the car.

Police say 47-year-old Joe Gonzalez, who owned a car speaker business at the location, died at the scene. His daughter, Gabrielle, and grandson were not hurt in the shooting.

"It is unbelievable, it's grace and mercy of God that they are were safe at that moment and we are just very thankful that at least they are not injured," said Gonzalez's sister Geeleen.

An investigation continues, but officials have said the two shooters had spoken with the victim moments before leaving and later returning.

"We just want this to be solved, and to end," Geeleen Gonzales said. "It’s caused a lot of heartbreak, especially to my mom. My mother is really suffering and she is heartbroken."

Anyone with information on who the shooters might be are asked to call Miami-Dade Police or Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers.
