Suspect Fatally Shot By Police Was Convicted Felon: Police

Authorities say a man fatally shot by police in northeast Florida was a convicted felon who was holding a loaded gun when officers broke through a door into his house to serve a warrant.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Mike Bruno said Thursday that 34-year-old Jerry Graham was killed after he was shot five times by a SWAT officer.

Bruno said Graham was holding a loaded pistol, and that officers also found a rifle and a shotgun along with crack cocaine, scales and other drugs.

Two boys, ages 5 and 7, were also in the house at the time of the shooting along with two women and a man. The adults were arrested on various charges.

Bruno said child welfare officials have been contacted, and that both boys are with their mother.
