Suspect in Creepy Mask Wanted in Hollywood Armed Robberies

Police are searching for a masked gunman who was caught on camera robbing a Hollywood gas station and attempting to rob a pizzeria on consecutive days this week.

The first incident happened Monday around 2:40 p.m. at the Little Caesars Pizza at 2301 N. State Road 7 when the suspect entered the store armed with a handgun and wearing a full facial mask, Hollywood Police said.

The store employee walked into the back of the business, away from the armed suspect, who grew frustrated and eventually left the store empty handed, police said. During the incident, the suspect pointed the gun several times at the exact location of the safe, which detectives say may indicate the suspect may be affiliated with a prior employee.

On the next day, the Exxon Gas Station at 6390 Sheridan Street was robbed shortly before noon by an armed suspect in a mask that police believe is the same gunman. During the robbery, the suspect was more aggressive, using flex cuffs to the secure the employee while getting away with over $1,000 in cash.

Surveillance cameras from both businesses captured the suspect, who police say is about 6-foot-0 and weighs about 180 pounds. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
