Suspect Shot During Armed Robbery Attempt at Miami Burger King: Cops

One of two suspects involved in an armed robbery attempt in the parking lot a Miami Burger King ended up in a hospital after they were somehow shot Wednesday, officials said.

Miami-Dade Police officials said the incident started when the suspects tried to rob two victims outside the fast food restaurant at 9675 Bird Road.

One of the suspects pulled out a gun and demanded the victims' property, then tried to force the victims into a vehicle, police said.

An altercation ensued and the gun went off, shooting one of the suspects in the hand, officials said. The suspects fled the scene, but an officer spotted their vehicle and started following them, police said.

The suspects drove to Westchester General Hospital and went into the emergency room. Officers responded and detained both suspects.

Footage showed one suspect being led out of the emergency room in handcuffs. The condition of the suspect who was shot was unknown.

Police haven't released the suspects' names or said what charges they may face.
