Suspect Arrested After West Park Man, 60, Stabbed to Death

Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed a 60-year-old man to death outside his West Park home Monday, police say.

Johnny Edward Granger, 53, admitted to stabbing 60-year-old Leon Frazier three times, police said. Frazier was found stabbed outside the home in the 5100 block of Southwest 18th Street around 9 p.m. Monday, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Officials said Granger fled the scene after stabbing Frazier, who was found bleeding profusely moments later. He was treated at the scene and rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital where he later died.

Granger said he stabbed Frazier because he felt "the victim was making sexual advances toward him," the sheriff's office said.

Granger is facing a charge of premeditated murder and is currently being held without bond. Granger's arrest history dates back to 2000, for charges including theft, burglary, domestic violence and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to a news release.
