Suspect Stabs Pregnant Woman; Fetus Not Expected to Survive

A man accused of stabbing a pregnant woman in the stomach faces first-degree murder charges as the fetus is not expected to survive.

The Miami-Dade Police Department said 40-year-old Jeremiah Sneed attacked a woman with a large kitchen knife on Saturday at 3150 NW 79th St. in Miami.

Sneed was allegedly driving around looking for the woman, who is about five or six months pregnant. Sneed chased after the woman at first in his vehicle and then by foot with the knife, according to police.

"The defendant ultimately confronted the victim in the street and stabbed her in the abdomen," MDPD wrote in an arrest report. "The defendant subsequently fled the scene."

Attending physicians told police the fetus is not expected to survive due to the woman's injuries.

Police said the victim identified Sneed as her attacker, adding that incident was captured on video.
