Suspect Wanted for Allegedly Attacking Men in Separate Incidents: Cops

Two men were seriously injured in separate incidents in Overtown on Wednesday, according to Miami Police.

Investigators said they're dealing with two different crimes scenes, that occurred just one block away from each other.

A male victim was found hurt at each scene and at this point, police aren't sure whether the incidents are related but they said the timelines and other factors suggest they could be.

Investigators said around 2 p.m., the first victim was attacked by a man in front of a convenience store at Northwest 4th Avenue and 7th Street. Police believe the motive was robbery.

The man was rushed to the trauma center at Jackson Memorial with serious head injuries.

Around the same time, police found another man also badly hurt at an apartment complex located in the 500 block of Northwest 8th street. They said they are also investigating that incident as a possible robbery.

The second victim also sustained serious head injuries and was transported to Jackson Memorial.

"We have two victims, suffering from severe head trauma. Unconfirmed if they were pistol whipped or shot in the head. They are two elderly males over 60 years of age. That's why it's a concern to us," said Freddie Cruz with Miami Police. "It's always a concern when victims are hurt but they are elderly males."

Police said they firmly believe these are simply two innocent victims. The person they're looking for is a black male, between 20 and 25 years of age, approximately 5'9" and 175 pounds. He was seen fleeing on a bike.

Anyone with information about these crimes or the suspect is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
