A man was arrested after he allegedly tried to rob a pregnant woman outside a Southwest Florida business and threatened her with a knife.
NBC affiliate WBBH-TV reports that officers arrested 26-year-old Kyle Morgan late Friday night and charged with him with several crimes, included attempted robbery and grand theft auto.
Police say Morgan approached the woman at a gas station in Naples, where the woman told her husband that she heard a knock at the door and thought it was him but instead it was Morgan with a knife in his hand.
The husband, Fidel Bello, told the station Morgan pointed the knife at his wife’s stomach and demanded money before she was able to push him away. She suffered a cut on her hand as a result, but is expected to be okay.
Bello arrived and said he was calling police, which is when Morgan allegedly jumped in Bello’s truck and fled the scene. Deputies were able stop Morgan, who told them he was at the scene but denied being involved in the robbery.
