Tampa Mall Reopens After Robbery, Evacuation

Authorities in Tampa say they're searching for three suspects following a robbery at the area's largest mall.

Tampa police said in an email Tuesday that no one was injured at International Plaza.

Police say the suspects used a sledgehammer to break the glass in a Rolex display section connected to a Mayors jewelry store. The suspects fled through the garage and left the scene in a black Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The mall was evacuated after police say the shattering noise caused some shoppers to think shots were being fired. But no evidence of a shooting was discovered.

The mall reopened a little more than an hour later.

The upscale mall is home to some 200 stores and more than a dozen restaurants. It's close to the Tampa International Airport.
