A Florida mayor who recently spent time as the city’s police chief was called back into duty recently when she assisted in the arrest of a burglary suspect.

NBC affiliate WFLA-TV reports that Tampa Mayor Jane Castor noticed a suspicious person appearing to be casing homes on a bicycle in one section of town.

Castor, who spent over 30 years with the Tampa Police Department that included the last six as chief, called the department’s communication office and officers were sent to the scene.

The suspect, Jesse Hickman, was taken into custody and admitted to a previous burglary in the area. Hickman has been charged with several crimes, including burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.
