Tannehill Comes Up Big As Dolphins Dominate Chargers

Ryan Tannehill threw three TD passes in Sunday's lopsided win over San Diego

The Miami Dolphins won their third straight game on Sunday with a dominating 37-0 victory over the San Diego Chargers.

The win improved Miami to 5-3 on the year and was the second win of the season against a team with a winning record. It was also only the second win of the year at home for the Dolphins following their win in the opening week over the New England Patriots.

Ryan Tannehill had a huge day throwing three touchdowns as part of a 288-yard day. The quarterback was very efficient in a 24-34 day. Tannehill's rating on the day was 125.6 as he also did not throw any interceptions. In the last three games combined, Tannehill has thrown only one pick to go along with six touchdowns.

With the game well in hand, Miami put Matt Moore in for the fourth quarter. The backup QB last saw action against the Oakland Raiders on September 28th. Moore was 2-4 in this game for 21 yards.

Tannehill also rushed for 47 yards marking the fourth straight game he's eclipsed 46 yards on the ground. One of Tannehill's runs was good for 22 yards. Lamar Miller picked up a touchdown as part of a 49-yard day on 11 carries.

Charles Clay, Jarvis Landry, and Rishard Matthews each caught a TD pass. All three receivers now have two touchdowns this year. Clay led the way in terms of receiving yards with his 65 while Brian Hartline was second with 50.

The turnover battle was dominated by Miami with San Diego losing the ball four times as opposed to zero times for the Dolphins. Brent Grimes picked the ball off twice to give him four on the season. Reshad Jones had an interception as well and now has two this year. Jared Odrick recovered a fumble for the other turnover.

The Dolphins will head to Detroit next Sunday for a game with the Lions at 1:00 p.m.
