A self-employed tattoo artist is facing a sexual battery charge after he assaulted a woman who was getting a tattoo by him, Miami-Dade Police said.
Louis Augustin, 35, was arrested last week and was being held without bond on an out of county warrant, jail records showed. It was unknown if he's hired an attorney.
Police said the 31-year-old victim was assaulted by Augustin while getting the tattoo in October. She able to escape and call police, but Augustin fled the scene before officers arrived. He was later identified and arrested.
Augustin is a registered sexual offender and has committed a similar crime in the past, police said. He is homeless, according to an arrest report.
Detectives are investigating if there have been any other incidents involving Augustin and are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
