Teen Arrested in Shooting Death of Teen in Florida City

Miami-Dade Police have arrested a 15-year-old suspect in connection with a shooting that killed a teen girl as she sat in a car in Florida City in October.

The suspect, Christopher Walker, was located in Brooklyn, New York. He will be charged as an adult for the murder of 17-year-old Noricia Talabert.

According to police, Talabert and two other teens were sitting in a car in the 1200 block of Northwest 8th Court around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. The three teens were ambushed and shot from suspects inside another vehicle.

Talabert, who was behind the wheel, tried to get away by speeding across a vacant lot. She crashed into a large tree, while the shooting suspects took off in an unknown direction.

Talabert was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two teens, Deanna Clayton and Daquantay Allen, were taken to nearby hospitals in stable condition.

Friends of Talabert told NBC 6 she was a great person and a straight A student at South Dade High School.

"She was a nice, beautiful young lady who wanted to do something for her life," said Linda Saint Jacques, who knew Talabert.

Walker has been charged with first degree murder, and two counts of attempted murder.

It is not known if he has hired an attorney.

Miami-Dade Police Department detectives are in New York and will hold an extradition hearing before Walker returns to Miami.

Miami-Dade Police are expected to announce details of the arrest in a press conference Wednesday at 3 p.m.
