Teen Arrested in Vandalism of Coral Springs Center for the Arts

A teenager is behind bars after police say he vandalized the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. Police are still searching for a second suspect.

Coral Springs Police arrested 18-year-old Dakota Kiernan, charging him with burglary, grand theft and criminal mischief for breaking into the entertainment center at 2855 Coral Springs Drive on Monday.

Coral Springs Police Lt. Joe McHugh said employees coming into work on the morning of Tuesday, December 16th discovered the building had been ransacked the night before.

Police said fire extinguishers, flat-screen televisions, and electronic defribillators had been removed from their wall mounts. Several walls had been spray painted with profanity, and feces had been left on the floor. Snack stands, vending machines and audio equipment had also been damaged.

McHugh said they used fingerprints found on a can of spray paint left at the scene to link Kiernan to the crime. They are still looking for another vandal. Anyone with information is asked to call Coral Springs Police.
