Arrest Made After Teen Shot, Killed in Little Havana: Police

A 16-year-old male has died after being shot in Little Havana Tuesday night. The shooting happened around 6:15 p.m. on the corner of Northwest 10th Avenue and Northwest 1st Street.

A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged with one count of murder for the shooting. The teen did not appear in court Thursday, but his parents and attorneys did.

A judge will decide later this month whether to charge the teen as an adult.

According to police, Osmand Falls was standing outside when the teen suspect confronted him, pointed a gun and fired at him. Miami Fire Rescue rushed Falls to Ryder Trauma Center in extremely critical condition. He died later as a result of his injuries.

According to Falls' family, the shooting may have been over a dispute involving basketball. However, police are still investigating a motive.

The shooting came shortly after 17-year-old Roderick Sweeting was shot and killed in Miami Gardens.

The investigations into both shootings are ongoing. Anyone with information on the shootings is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
