Teen Shot and Killed in Car in Florida City

Two other teens in stable condition after shooting; police searching for suspects

Police are searching for suspects after 17-year-old girl was killed and two other teens were injured when they were shot while sitting in a car in Florida City late Saturday night.

Officers responded to a shooting in the 1200 block of Northwest 8th Court around 10:20 p.m. Saturday and found the three teens shot inside a red Nissan Sentra, Miami-Dade Police said.

The driver of the car, 17-year-old Noricia Talabert, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two teens, Deanna Clayton and Daquantay Allen, were taken to nearby hospitals in stable condition.

Police said the teens were sitting in the car when they were ambushed by suspects in another vehicle. Talabert tried to get away by speeding across a vacant lot but she crashed into a large tree, police said.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Those who knew Talabert said she was a great person and a straight A student at South Dade High School.

"She was a nice, beautiful young lady who wanted to do something for her life," said Linda Saint Jacques, who knew Talabert.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
