Temporary passport locations will open in Miami on Monday to accommodate applicants with urgent travel needs while the Miami Passport Agency office remains closed. The main office closed its door due to significant water damage Monday.
The temporary locations are available for customers who are traveling in 8 to 20 days, officials said. The hours and days of operation of the temporary locations will vary.
Applicants traveling within 20 days must schedule appointments by calling the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778 or 1-888-874-7793.
Customers who need a passport in seven days or less must apply at another passport agency, and the closest passport agencies to Florida are in Atlanta and New Orleans.
Recent customers who recently applied in person at the Miami Passport Agency and have not received their passport should contact the National Passport Information Center.
