Weather wise, the warm trend continues with an isolated shower and storm throughout the day and high temperatures near 90 degrees.

No. 1 – Fury of Florence continues with massive flooding in affected areas

Water rescues are underway in the Carolinas as crews are working to help people trapped in their homes following the storm’s landfall late last week – and ensuing stalling over the area, dumping feet of rain in some areas and claiming the lives of at least 17 people.

No. 2 – Dwyane Wade returning for one final year with Miami Heat

Fans have been waiting for an answer – and now, the longtime superstar has announced that he is coming back for what Wade called “one last dance” in a nearly 10 minute YouTube video. Wade is one of just two players to be on all three championship teams for the organization and was traded back to Miami last February.

No. 3 – Miami Dolphins beat rival New York Jets for first 2-0 start in five years

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill showed his abilities with both his arm and legs as the Dolphins held on for a 20-12 victory – the first time Miami has started 2-0 since the 2013 season. That season, Miami won their first three games – something this year’s team can do next week when they host the Oakland Raiders.

No. 4 – Former Miami Dolphins first round pick retires in middle of game Sunday

Vontae Davis, who spent three seasons with the Dolphins before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts before the 2012 season, retired during halftime as his new team – the Buffalo Bills – took on the Los Angeles Chargers. Needless to say, some of his teammates were less than thrilled with the timing.

No. 5 - These are the 15 hardest Florida colleges to get into

Niche released it's "2019 Hardest Colleges to Get Into" list for Florida, and some may be shocked by the rankings. The University of Miami topped the list based on acceptance rates and SAT/ACT test scores mostly pulled from the U.S. Department of Education. Did your school make the list

No. 7 - Millions of U.S. teens are now vaping pot, a new survey finds

A school-based survey shows that nearly 1 in 11 U.S. students have used marijuana in electronic cigarettes, heightening concern about the new popularity of vaping among teens. The number is worrying "because cannabis use among youth can adversely affect learning and memory," said lead researcher Katrina Trivers of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
