Weather wise, the hot weather continues into the middle of September with an occasional afternoon shower and high temperatures in the low 90s.

No. 1 – North Carolina begins to feel effects of Hurricane Florence

While the system has gone down to a Category 2 storm, winds of over 110 miles per hour are expected as it makes landfall over the next 36 hours – potentially stalling at one point and dropping over three feet of rain potentially in the area.

No. 2 – Less ride sharing options on Miami Beach?

If the city has its way, the answer would be yes. Commissioners voted Wednesday to ask the state to cap the number of cars from companies like Uber and Lyft, citing concerns over the amount of traffic.

A similar measure was enacted in New York City last month – however, the state of Florida has the final say over whether such a measure would be approve here.
