Therapy Dogs Will Soon Greet Guests at Miami International Airport

All certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, the K-9s will volunteer their time during peak travel periods to de-stress weary travelers.

Travelers should expect to see some new furry friends at Miami International Airport starting next week.

Five volunteer K-9s -- Abbey, Belle, Dash, Donovan and Pico -- are part of the airport's new therapy dog program the Miami Hound Machine.

"Traveling and flying at times can be stressful. And some people just don’t like flying yet and that’s where we think the benefits of therapy dog are just perfectly aligned," said Debbie Snyder with the Miami Hound Machine.

All certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, the K-9s will volunteer their time during peak travel periods to de-stress weary travelers.

"I mean they’re so suited for this environment and the dogs love it too," Snyder said.

The dogs will make their debut at MIA on Monday.
