Thief Wearing Bucket and Trash Bag Steals Birds From Miami Religious Store

For the second time this year, thousands of dollars worth of tools and pigeons were stolen from a Miami religious store.

A security camera was rolling early Sunday morning, recording a thief sporting a bucket and trash bag as he broke into Viejo Lazaro Botanica on West Flagler.

The store's owner Nelson Hernandez says that roughly $7,000 worth of pigeons and power tools were stolen. He says the pigeons are worth about $2,000 each.

Hernandez says the pigeons were bred in Cuba and smuggled to Miami.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
