Thieves Burglarized Hialeah Home While Owners Were Inside

Hialeah homeowners are hoping surveillance footage will help capture some crooks who broke into their house while they were in bed Wednesday night.

The incident happened at a home near East 9th Lane and 7th Street and was captured on surveillance cameras.

"Yesterday night at 10:03 we were in bed. We were not even sleeping and somebody entered our house," the homeowner, who didn't want to be identified, told NBC 6.

The footage shows one man walk onto the property through a front gate before he gets into a car in the driveway and starts rummaging around for items.

"They pulled the fence. It’s a motor fence and they figured out how to pull it and enter through the side of the house," the homeowner said.

The homeowner said the two men also broke into their storage unit on the side of the house, stealing items worth more than $1,000 including a pressure cleaner, drills and other tools.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
