Police are searching for some burglars who broke into a check-cashing store in southwest Miami-Dade early Friday and made off with thousands of dollars.
Miami-Dade Police said the suspect or suspects broke into the China Town II restaurant at 15104 Southwest 72nd Street sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. then crawled through the ceiling to get into the Cash Advance next door.
Once inside the business they used tools to pry open two safes and steal the money.
The damage done to the store forced them to close for the day while a worker repaired the alarm.
Police are asking anyone with information on the heist to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
