Flood Advisory in Effect for Miami-Dade County as Thunderstorm Slam Parts of South Florida

A Flood Advisory was issued Monday afternoon for parts of Miami-Dade County as thunderstorms slammed parts of South Florida.

The advisory was in effect for northeastern Miami-Dade County until 7:45 p.m.

Earlier in the afternoon, dime-sized hail was reported near Florida's Turnpike and Sunrise Boulevard, the National Weather Service said. There was flooding on local streets along Pembroke Road near Flamingo Road in Miramar.

Excessive lightning was expected for parts of eastern Broward and central Miami-Dade counties.

The storms were expected to linger until at least the early evening.
