Authorities in north Florida are investigating after a toddler was found dead at a home following what authorities believe was a dog attack.
Citrus County Sheriff's Office says it responded to a residence in Crystal River, just over an hour north of Tampa, Saturday afternoon and discovered the body of 2-year-old Christopher Camejo in the backyard of the home.
Sheriffs say the boy's parents— 29-year-old Christopher Camejo and 31-year-old Claudia Scarbrough were both inside the residence at the time, along with friends and two other children. The father was found to be in violation of an unrelated injunction for protection and taken into custody.
Animal Control officers also responded and removed four Rottweilers and an additional dog from the home. The Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident and sheltered both remaining children.
