Car Hits Water Hydrant in Deerfield Beach, Causes Traffic Nightmare

Drivers in one Deerfield Beach neighborhood were being detoured after a vehicle struck a fire hydrant Tuesday morning, creating quite a mess.

Chopper 6 was over the scene near Southwest 10th Street and Natura Boulevard, where the car struck the hydrant near a gas station and created a flood of water at the intersection.

Officials have not released any information on possible injuries to anyone inside the car, but traffic is being sent around the scene as workers continue to clean up the area. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes at this time.
