Tray Walker, Baltimore Ravens Cornerback, Dies After Motorcycle Crash in Miami

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker has died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash in northwest Miami-Dade, his agent told NBC 6 South Florida Friday.

Agent Ronald Butler confirmed the 23-year-old's death, which comes less than a day after he was hospitalized in the crash.

"He was a great young man," Butler said. "He was good-hearted guy."

Walker is from Miami and attended Miami Northwestern High School. He played in college for Texas Southern and was selected in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by Baltimore.

"We have two sons not too much older than Tray, and we can't imagine how much his family is suffering. This is so sad," Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said in a statement. "The right words are hard to find at a time like this. As much as we can comfort Tray's mom and the rest of his family, we will."

"Tray was a young man with a good and kind heart. He was humble and loved everything about being part of the Ravens’ team. He loved his teammates, the practice and the preparation, and that showed every day," head coach John Harbaugh said. "He was coachable, did his most to improve and worked to become the best. I'll never forget that smile. He always seemed to be next to me during the national anthem; then we would give each other a big hug. May he rest in the Peace of Christ Jesus forever."

Walker was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center Thursday night after the crash in the area of Northwest 21st Avenue and Northwest 75th Street.

Miami-Dade Police said Walker was riding a Honda bike with no lights and was wearing dark clothing when he collided with another vehicle, a Ford Escape, which stayed at the scene.

Police said reports of a second person involved in the crash may instead be a witness, but his identity was unknown.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
