Two Die Trapped in Burning Vehicle After I-95 Crash in Miami-Dade

A crash involving two vehicles on northbound Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade left two people dead.

The collision occurred at about 3 a.m. on Sunday in the area of Northwest 95th Street, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

"Based on a preliminary investigation, a blue Chevy SUV was traveling north in the #3 lane of I-95. A blue BMW sedan was traveling north in the #2 lane of I-95," FHP said in a statement. "The Chevy changed lanes into the path of the BMW. The front of the BMW collided into the left side of the Chevy. As a result, the Chevy overturned, landed on its roof and became fully engulfed in flames."

The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet vehicle – a man and woman – both died after becoming trapped inside the enflamed vehicle.

The driver of the BMW was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.
