Pair Arrested in Attempted Armed Robbery of Off-Duty Officer in Hollywood: Police

Two men who attempted to rob an off-duty police officer in Hollywood early Wednesday but fled when the officer fired his gun have been arrested, officials said.

Kevin Paz and Shadik Perch were arrested late Thursday night in connection with the incident that occurred in the 300 block of Minnesota Street at 2:35 a.m.

One of the suspects approached the officer, who authorities say was walking to his parked car with another victim, pulled out a hand gun and demanded the victim’s property.

The officer responded by firing his gun, but the suspects fled in a vehicle. There were no injuries, officials said.

Surveillance footage showed Paz and Perch inside a restaurant close to the scene before the incident occurred, police said.
