Two North Florida Sheriff's Deputies Resign Amid Investigation

Two northeast Florida sheriff's deputies have resigned following an investigation that began after one crashed his patrol car into his own home while the other was inside.

The Florida Times-Union reports no one was injured in the Friday night crash. The driver, Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Glenn Ward, resigned Tuesday. Deputy Jack Bledsoe resigned on Wednesday.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Mary Justino says the State Attorney's Office in Jacksonville is investigating.

Authorities say they don't know why Bledsoe was inside Ward's home or who he was with.

A neighbor who witnessed the crash told the newspaper Ward didn't hit the brakes before slamming into the house.
