Two Toddlers Pulled From Pool in North Miami in Stable Condition

Two toddlers who nearly drowned after they were found in a backyard pool of a North Miami home remained hospitalized Wednesday.

Officers said a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old were found unresponsive by a family member Tuesday night.

"A boy and a girl were pulled from the family pool by family members, the children were unresponsive at the time. Family tried their best to do CPR and called 911," said North Miami Police Commander Rafael Estrugo.

The incident happened at 1150 Northeast 129th Street.

The children were rushed to Ryder Trauma Center. Fire Rescue was able to regain a pulse on both children as they arrived at the hospital. They had been in critical condition but were upgraded to stable Wednesday and now both are expected to be okay.

Police said it appears to have been an accident.
