The University of Florida is saying their band director was thrown to the ground Saturday, possibly by a fan of the rival Miami Hurricanes shortly after the teams played in a heated football game.

Officials told NBC affiliate WESH-TV that a fan of the Canes was trying to cut through band members who were walking back to their buses at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium following the game when the band director held out his arm to stop them.

That’s when, according to the school, Jay Watkins was pushed to the ground by a fan. Watkins, who declined to press charges according to the Miami Herald, was treated and cleared to return to Gainesville with the band.

Officials have not released any information on the case.
