Vandal Smashes Car Windows in Little Haiti Parking Garage

Several residents in Little Haiti woke up on Christmas morning to see that their car windows were smashed by a vandal overnight.

The Miami Police Department said officers received a call of a subject breaking into multiple vehicles at around 12:30 a.m. in a parking garage on NW 57th Avenue and NW 2nd Street.

The subject was arrested shortly after, police said. They have not been identified.

About 16 vehicles were vandalized. Pieces of glass were scattered all over the floors of the garage, and some car windows were completely blown out.

One resident, who did not want to be identified, said the vandal didn’t even steal anything from her car.

“After you spent a whole lot of money getting (Christmas) gifts … you still have to spend more money getting the car fixed,” she said. “It’s kind of disappointing.”
