The Venetian Causeway had partially reopened Monday evening after a gas leak forced closures in both directions during rush hour.
Officials began opening lanes to accommodate residents. Miami Police advised all others to use alternate routes.
Miami Fire Rescue was also on the scene investigating.
Officials said a construction crew broke a 5" main gas line on the city side of the cause near North Bayshore Drive. A gas company is on the scene repairing the damage.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of the causeway were shut down for several hours.
